Sightseeing program today: the temples. It’s our first real cultural experience in India… During the 7th and 8th centuries, the rocks along the Coromandel Coast were carved to build a series of temples. Around 40 of these ancient mandirs are part of the Group of Monuments at Mahabalipuram which is today a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
