Day 178: A day without kids

Yeeees, today the boys got a break from us and visa versa. They could spend the day with Kim’s children Nicolai (8) and Annalie (7) and Bill and I enjoyed another day in Napier, the Art Deco town.

As half of Napier was destroyed by an earthquake in 1931 and rebuilt during that time this place has turned into an open air Art Deco museum.

It’s so nice to be able to sit in a cafĂ© watching the street life, drinking moccachino and having an uninterrupted conversation with Bill and to stroll along the streets and through little arty shops.

The boys had a great time, too, doing all the kids stuff they hadn’t done for ages, like playing Lego, kicking a ball, watching a little film and especially having other kids’ company.
