Our grand tour

Day 237: Enough swimming pools!

We want a natural pool! So we decide to drive to Redbank Gorge. On the way we stop at a meteor crater. Not that spectacular but we are the only ones and we really get a feeling of remoteness and isolation as we are off the tarmac roads and on an unsealed one for the first time.

At the Gorge we are the only ones too. It’s a twenty minutes walk along a dry river bed to get there. Sometimes through deep sand sometimes over rocks and stones. Luckily we don’t see any snakes! After a refreshing dip and hundreds of flies we head back. A special location but was it worth the six hours drive there and back? Don’t know.

On the way back we see wild camels and wild horses. Ah, always something to keep you entertained.
