Today we walk along the opposite direction of Tofinho. First on the road, which means through deep sand along a swamp and through little settlements. We pass a lot of people dressed up for church. Churches are a big thing here in Mozambique. Almost everyone seems to be looking forward to Sunday. They wear their best clothes, and go to mass which can go on the whole day. Sometimes you see them carrying chairs to church, as they are overcrowded. People meet, sing, pray, eat together, catch up with the latest gossip and do business. Anyway, we continue our walk along a few empty once posh looking lodges.

At Mango Beach we stop at a lodge where we eat the best seafood basket and Finn and Anik get to play with some other boys. It’s really a lovely place, unfortunately too far from the village to stay here. We get told that the humpback whales are about to arrive and you can see them from the shore…

Off the edge
On the other side….
On the way back we walk along the beach. At an deserted lodge Bill and I have to sneak in and have a look around. It’s sad to see how this place, like many others, is falling apart, all destroyed in a cyclone in 2014 and never repaired.
Yoga in the ruins
It was another lovely day in Paradise. Coming home at sunset in an incredible light.
