Our last day. And fist thing we did is move to another place. A bit of luxury for the last night.
Chennai, what a place. We are right next to a huge vegetable and flower market, that apparently supplies whole Tamil Nadu. Anik and I had a stroll through the flower section. All these colours and smells…

I’m the afternoon we want to go to Marina Beach and St. Thomas’ grave. We had no idea that one of the apostles is buried here.

The beach… I don’t know how to describe this place. It’s the longest promenade in the world. But I wouldn’t speak of a promenade. First we walked along a deserted poorer than poor area. Just kind of hut/tents made out of plastic and other rubbish and people who were surprised to see us. I guess not many people come here. And then the weather. Hot wind, a diffuse orangey light – is it the end of the world? It’s close anyway…

Oh, this wasn’t the promenade at all, we walked the wrong direction. So all the way back again to find what looked like a seaside beach resort made up by George A. Romero (“Mad Max”).
But plenty of nice people at the Gandhi statue.
My plan to finally get some typical Indian clothes which I kept pushing to the very end vanishes. Guess there are great places in Chennai to go shopping, but we are definitely far away from them. Looking for a place to eat we coincidentally bump into our tuktuk driver – how likely is that concidering there are 8 million inhabitants. Almost 40 minutes later we are at a typical Indian restaurant.. That shows how far away from the beaten track we were. And here a shopping opportunities too. But it’s already quite late and try to go shopping with three men. Forget it!
How about a chicken?
