It’s sad to leave Coober Pedy, but we can’t stay here forever. We stop at Lake Hart, a small salt lake. Although it’s prohibited to enter the lake we risk a 2000 $ fine or imprisonment, we can’t resist…

Lunch is our leftovers. Slowly but surely we have no food left. What an inviting spot, ey? But a good chance to take a picture of a road train.

We decide to camp in Woomera, a military base. Driving into it reminds us of a ghost town. Many rockets are decoratively presented. Weird atmosphere! After sunset many kangaroos gather around the campsite. I want to go for a walk – in the pitch black when I suddenly hear a big hopping noise right beside me, that makes me jump too. Don’t know who gets the bigger fright, the kangaroo or me.
