Our grand tour

Day 268/269: a long trip

Goodbye wonderful Peter, goodbye Puddles, my doggy friend, goodbye house which made me feel at home, goodbye Sydney where it never gets boring and thank you for all these unforgettable experiences and goodbye Australia with it’s beautiful people, it’s rich wildlife and thank you for not a single rainy day (not counting the 4 or 5 little showers).

14 hours on the plane to Dubai, 14 hours we have to wait at the airport and another 10 hours to Cape Town. My eyes are red and sore, I’m lacking sleep but we manage! The boys are loving it in TV screen heaven.

Bill and the boys manage to sleep a couple of hours at the airport, but I can’t.

Finally in Cape Town we get through security and baggage claim pretty easily and fast. On the way to the apartment Anik falls asleep and doesn’t wake up anymore for the rest of the day – and it’s about lunch time when we get into the taxi….

Good to be back, it’s a crystal clear day, the apartment is clean and we can see the table mountain from the windows. But first I don’t care. Just want to sleep. And what a cosy bed we have!
