A trip to paradise. Just the four of us and two skippers on a boat, passing dolphins heading towards an island with high sand dunes, near a reef. As we are early we are the first to arrive and have the island of Bazaruto to ourselves. We soak up the stunning views, jumps off dunes and live every second intensively.

By the time we head back boats with lots of white tourists have arrived. We get rearranged and head off to our snorkelling tour. Didn’t expect too much after my snorkelling experience in Tofo, but it is unbelievably beautiful. Fish in all colours, shapes and sizes swimming everywhere around you. Still intact corals growing o the sea floor. That’s what every reef should look like!
Still overwhelmed everyone heads back to Bazaruto, where we have time to relax and get our lunch – grilled chicken, fish and crab, rice and bead, veggies and different fruit. Yummy! Need a walk after all the food so Bill and I stroll along the beach while the boys go back up the dunes. As beautiful as it is, if you look closely you can find plastic rubbish spread along the shore. We return with a big bag full of it.
On our way back we stop at another island. Again white beaches, crystal clear water. We stop at a sandy strip, on one side the ocean on the other side a big salt water pool. Bill decides to take a nap, the boys choose the pool ad I go for a stroll and a swim in the sea. When I come back the sand bank is almost gone as the tide comes in really fast. Bill still asleep gets waken up by water tickling his feet. It’s just such a perfect day, I’m glad I spent it with… my family.
