Our grand tour

Day 366 – 373: Tofo

Yes, we have returned, and with us the humpback whales. We can see them breaching and flapping their fins from the beach. Need to get closer! Therefore another sea safari. And indeed, we do get close. Unfortunately the whales don’t want to jump but one keeps hitting his tail onto the surface and then rolls onto the back and continues flapping his side fins. Impressive! We even get one more chance to swim with a whale shark, too. As our family are the only ones to bring fins, we are able to swim along with it without other people. I can look him straight into the eye. Such gentle creature. You really get the feeling he enjoys your company and shares the moment with you. Thank you, biggy!

We leave the lagoon house after four nights and move to the market street. Great location, spacey , good matrasses but these are the only positive things to say about our new and last place. The toilets don’t flush properly, the shower is only a drizzle and we have people living in a hut in the back garden. As we don’t spend much time in the house we can ignore the negatives.                                                                             (Fixing the moss nets)

Slowly but surely we have to get used to the idea of going home. Feelings mixed with excitement, fear, joy and sadness. But it’s time as we can’t see ourselves moving on, finding new accommodation, organizing transport, exploring new places… Ahh, but on the other hand  the beach and the Indian Ocean are just too nice.
