Today we are going to Pokhara, Nepal’s second biggest town at Phewa Lake.
What does that mean?
- Getting up at 5 o’clock – what a nightmare if you’re used to getting up at eight.
- Having some lovely porridge to fill you up for the road.
- Introducing ourselves to our driver, who was arranged by our Nepali host family joining us to Pokhara.

- Spending hours in traffic jams, as every person from Kathmandu, seems to be wanting to leave the city. Actually about 300 000 people out of 4.2 million leave the city within 48 hours because of the run up to the biggest Nepali festival “Dasain”.
- Being hit by a taxi van from behind. Taxi wrecked, we all got away with just a shock.
- Spending an hour at the police station because of that and thereby discovering a lovely masala tea place.

- Saying goodbye to our Nepali hosts and arriving at our hotel eleven hours after we left Kathmandu.
- Finding out that our booked apartment is not available, but nevertheless a cool spot.
- Finishing the exhausting day off with some delicious vegan/vegetarian food.
